Make Way for the Success
Soldiers Sortie is one of the most popular teleplays in 2007. It tells stories about some soldiers, which moves and inspires many audiences.
The protagonist, Sanduo Xu, seems gormless. He and his countrymen, Sicai Chen, a very cannily young man, joined up the army. Although the monitor, Jin Shi, intended to help Sanduo to be a manful soldier, Sanduo was refused by the commander of Steeling Company Ⅶ, Cheng Gao. After spending half year in Class 5 Red Company Ⅲ, settling in a wild place, Sanduo was translated to Steeling Company Ⅶ by the colonel due to his outstanding performance. However, Cheng still strongly refused him. Jin argued that “I persist to keep back Sanduo. I have made the promise to help him be a manful soldier, and I must keep my promise!” Thus, Sanduo stayed in Steeling Company Ⅶ, where he grown to be a manful soldier through his own efforts and Jin’s great help. During that period, Sanduo totally changed the other persons’ attitudes to him, especially Cheng and the vice monitor Liuyi Wu, a man with firm determination. It was Jin’s transferring to civilian work that made Sanduo really stand on his own legs, which also made Sanduo, Liuyi and Cheng very sad. After that, Sanduo was selected to remove to the A Brigade in a cruel competition. Liuyi was injured in that competition and he decided to transfer to civilian work instead of be a fainéant in the army. Sicai was refused by Lang Yuan, the captain of A Brigade, for the first time due to his selfhood and was accepted finally after his self-examination for about half a year. In the A Brigade, the ordinary and fantastic stories continue.
After watched Soldiers Sortie, I fell in deep thought, being totally moved by their firm wills and true friendship. Each character has special characteristics and all of them shine unique light. “Never abandon, and never give up” is the motto of Steeling Company Ⅶ, revealing their firm determination and friendship. Sanduo is not a clever man, however, he believes “to live is to do many many meaningful things and to do many many meaningful things is to live peacefully.” His ordinary dream leads him to success.
As Jin said in the play, “there is a beautiful flower in everyone’s heart.” We all have hopes and dreams, big or small, and we all desire success. Maybe, not all of us can achieve success. We may obtain pains and happiness. It doesn’t matter whether it is pain or happiness. Just experience them. We will make our way to success finally.
